Along with slingshots i am also an airgun addict. i have shot everthing from spring lever actions that send a small bb 300 fps to bigger pcp's that will send a 18 grain .22 cal pellet 1100 fps, but i have to say some of my favorite air guns are the original red ryder and the small daisy buck simply because they are so much fun, and are quick shooting ( and the fact that i shoot instinctive ) the following picture was taken in my nearby creek with the daisy buck. since this gun is very low in velocity i have become very good with instinctive shooting and only go for head shots. this dove was taken with a clean head shot at about 20 yards and was gone instantly. cooked him up too.

skinnyb,
when you go to make your post, right under the box that you type in there is a link that says add image to post. click on that then follow the directions for uploading your picture. try that and if you still have trouble I'm sure CK will be glad to help.
tc,
wildman

you can try using photobucket ... you just have to sigh up and up load your pics in .. It like a online photo alblum .. So the next time you post you just go to photobucket copy the IMG code and paste it in your post ... hopes this helps .. Jo

i am an airgun addict to! i own a shadow 1000, a crosman phantom, 3 air pistols, 2 red rider bb guns, and thats about it for airguns. i am surprised you got a dove with a buck. i did not even know it was possible! you must be a great shot to be able to hit it in the head at 20 yards! and dove is good eating to! hows that pistol with the scope, the one that you half to pump doing for you? i forget what it is called.

hey mbp, yeah i shoot instinctive with the buck and taking that dove would have only been possible without a head shot, very clean kill. and the pistol that you pump in a crosman 1377 stock form, very accurate gun i love it.

Skinny b came over to my house last night to see a movie and he let his dog outside, after about 10 min we heard something growling outside when we went to check it out we noticed a 17 pound racoon had been treed by his dog I grabbed my 880 and a couple of gamo magnums, (He was keeping an eye on the raccoon with a light) When i came back and gave it a couple shots to the head and it fell in the water and started drowning and sank and we had to swim after it, and finnaly when we got it we skinned it,

Nice guns fellows but you need to replace the "Red Green" muzzle brake with something a bit more fancy.  Razz  Wink

I have customized most of my airguns.

A Crosman 1377 converted to a C02 rifle.

A couple of custom QB-78's.

Crosman 2260

Crosman .25 cal wildcat

A couple of Crosman 2240's

Got lots more but these are my favorites.

Nice guns! I got a Daisy Red Ryder, a Daisy-Winchester 500xs and a Crosman bb scout. I wouldn't want to try hunting with them because of their low velocities. The bb guns are only in the 300 fps range and the pellet gun is 490 fps but in .177 cal. and I heard that in .177 guns you want to have at least 1000 fps for humane kills. Confused

Can aybody help me ID an old crosman?  I had one as a kid that was pumped by sliding the barrel downd into the receiver (a straight back pull no hinging)  was the best air rifle I ever saw.  I have not been able to find anything on-line about it ever being made.  Had solid wooden stock and a magazine built around the receiver.  You poured BBs into a hole on top near the front of the stock.  Any guesses?  Thanks in advance.

BTW it took only one pump per shot and was nearly twice the velocity of the Daisys that were common back then.  Not positive it was a Crossman but pretty sure of it. Thanks again

jake8958, in my opinion the daisy 880 is the best value for an airgun, no questions asked,
-its 35 bucks at walmart so get a couple
-its the most durable gun iv ever used
-the 4x15 scope isnt crap it will shoot dead on but doesnt have good light transmission, so if you can afford it go to a 4x32 or a 3-9x32
-since its a pump it doesnt loose velocity in cold weather
-VERY powerful my buddy droped that coon up there ^^ like a squirrel
-quiet, but you can easily attach a silencer to make it impossible to hear (if you want instructions ill give them to you)
-after you break it in i can consistently get 10 shots in a dime at 25 yards
-oh, and did i mention its 35 bucks??

That would be a Cromsan V-350 super BB repeater, they are fun guns and can be had quite reasonable off gun auctions. I see a good many floating around at fleamarkets too.]

yeah....woodpecker??
im just trying to help you out jake, dont post pictures of that please
dont kill animals for the fun of it, i think you should eat your kill or use the skin or feathers for different stuff, one time i had to shoot a blue jay that killed the house wrens in my bushes there were 4 house wrens and the blue jay left 1. i know its illegal to kill bluejays but i believe they are related to crows and are no good, my point is i kill things for a purpose.. i even used the feathers to tie flies for fly fishing..

Thanks Skinny, BTW I just got in the v-350 I ordered and it has definitely been altered a bit.  The bolts holding the stock on are not OEM.  Got any idea where I might find some original?  or at least a photo so I can have some made.  Thanks again.  GMOU

Don't sweat it Jake, just hate to see anything killed just for the thrill of it, that's all.  Live and learn, what else can we do?  Try hitting a ping pong ball at ten meters.  When you can do that then you can say that you can hit any bird out there, no doubt.

Hey Skinny. Do you know if there is a way to regain the opriginal power from one of the crosman v-350's?  It just seems weak to me.  Do they make a seal kit or something?  Thought you would know.  I haven't been able to find one on-line anywhere.  Thanks ahead for any help. And thanks again for the back-up. Nice to know.

gmoux275, sorry i really dont have any knowledge on v-350's but go to the airgun hunting forum and run that same question by them and your gonna find someone who knows.. http://www.network54.com/Forum/414006/

jaybird, haha i thought someone might say this.. if you have ever shot a buck you would realize that the sights are useless past a distance of.. i would say.. 7 feet?? haha the bb almost instantly drops and you cant even adjust the rear sight.. i think its actually less powerful than a red ryder.. you almost got me though..haha   Very Happy
