Little Osage Pocket Shooter

Here's a Small Pocket Shooter carved from some nice Osage Orange. 5 1/4"s tall and 3 5/8" wide, with some finger grooves carved in. This piece is a bit thicker then most at 7/8" but it fills the hand nicely. I finished this one in Boiled Linseed Oil which really does bring out the grain. Gotta love Osage! Very Happy Flatband

Nice looking fork Flatband, are you using a router bit for the band grooves?  They look a lot more even than I get with a small hand rasp.  Mine do the job but yours sure look more professional.  Good job!

Very nice Flatband!  Seeing your osage (Bois D'Arc) slingshot brings me back to fond memories when I enjoyed shooting stickbows several times per week. My shoulders can no longer take the bow shooting but slingshots have now become the substitute. Many thanks for posting the pics.

Cheers,
Northerner

Thanks guys, the Osage is awesome. I cut the grooves with my Dremel. I first run a pencil line around where I want to cut and then just go for it. Fun! Smile Flatband
