Here's 2 frames that were a real Pain in the butt to finish up. The one on the left is a straight handled Universal Ergo done up in Cocobolo, the right one is a full Universal Ergo carved up in Bocote. The carving wasn't bad on these but the finishing took over 2 weeks. The frames would not dry. I gave then an immersion in Acetone, stripped it all off, resanded lightly and tried to Marine Poly them again. It worked on the Bocote but the Cocobolo no go. So I sunk that frame again in the Acetone bath and waited till it just dried out and then immediatly sank her in the Poly. This time she dried, but man some of these Exotics really have a ton of oil in them. Great looking wood types but be prepared! Flatband
